Marketing reports and an open laptop on a desk lit by a single lamp at night

OUR STORY

10+ years in marketing taught us something uncomfortable.

We kept seeing good businesses make expensive marketing decisions without anyone independent enough to tell them what was really happening.

Where this started

For more than a decade, we’ve worked in digital marketing, alongside agencies, and while launching e-commerce brands ourselves.

We’ve reviewed thousands of marketing accounts. We’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly—and we kept watching the same problems happen to businesses that deserved better.

What we kept seeing

01

We saw founders guessing.

AI. Freelancers. Forums. YouTube. Advice was everywhere—but no one was looking at the full business, its budget, its stage, and what actually deserved priority.

Many founders were doing everything they could to make good decisions.

They weren’t lazy. They weren’t careless. They were trying to figure it out without an experienced, independent perspective—and every wrong move cost them time, money, and momentum.

02

We saw accounts that weren’t getting the attention they deserved.

Retainers were paid. Reports were shared. Meetings were held. But important tests stalled, fixes were delayed, and opportunities sat untouched longer than they should have.

Some agencies were exceptional. Others were stretched too thin. The business owner often had no independent way to tell the difference.

Activity isn’t the same as progress.

03

We saw good businesses pay the price.

Good people. Strong products. Real ambition. But without the right clarity and direction, they wasted money, lost time, and made decisions that set growth back months.

Some hired an agency before the economics made sense. Others stayed with the wrong approach because they didn’t know what questions to ask. Many walked away believing marketing simply didn’t work.

It shouldn’t be that way.

What we believe

  • We’re not against agencies.

  • We’re not against freelancers.

  • We’re not against AI.

We’re against making expensive marketing decisions without clarity.

SO WE BUILT

The Agency Check.

The independent perspective we wished more businesses had from the start.

We created The Agency Check to give businesses an experienced person in their corner whose job is not to sell execution, defend a campaign, or protect an agency relationship.

Our job is to understand what is happening, tell you the truth, and help you make the right next decision.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Four things that don’t change.

We don’t sell execution.

Our recommendations are not designed to create more implementation work for us. We review, explain, prioritize, and direct. You, your team, your freelancers, or your agency execute.

We don’t replace your agency or team.

Our goal is to strengthen the decisions around the people already doing the work—not take their place.

We work one-time or ongoing.

Start with a focused Marketing Check or keep an independent senior perspective in your corner through ongoing monthly direction and oversight.

We tell you the truth.

What’s working. What isn’t. What deserves attention next. If your agency or team is doing strong work, we’ll tell you. If something needs to improve, we’ll tell you that too.
